Scene First 2008, originally scheduled for March, has been postponed. Futures dates will be announced soon. If you submitted a film you may either choose to have your submission fee refunded or we will keep your film and enter it for review when the new festival dates are determined. Please contact us at info@campusentertainment.net if you would like a refund. Please be sure to include your mailing address and WAB submission number.

Scene First is sad to announce the passing of Frank Capra Jr. Among many other talents, he was dedicated to seeing student filmmakers succeed and played a large part in the success of the first annual Scene First Student Film Festival. Our thoughts go out to his family.

2008 Scene First Grand Jury winner will have exclusive meeting with NBC Universal!
The winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Scene First Festival will have a private meeting with Marc Hirschfeld, Executive Vice President for Casting at NBC Universal Television. The meeting will take place at NBC’s offices in Burbank or New York.

Farrelly Brothers’ Producer Kris Meyer to Speak at Scene First
Kris Meyer, who has co-produced the Farrelly Brothers’ films on Shallow Hal, Stuck on You, Fever Pitch and Heartbreak Kid will appear at the 2008 Scene First Student Film Festival. Kris is currently working on a documentary on the life of legendary Cuban-born pitcher Luis Tiant and will begin filming the next Farrelly Brothers film in early 2008.

NBC Executive VP Marc Hirschfeld to Discuss Casting at Scene First Festival
Casting legend Marc Hirschfeld will speak to student filmmakers about casting their films at Scene First in March, 2008. Hirschfeld has been at NBC since 1999, a tenure that has seen the exec oversee the casting of skeins such as The Office, Heroes, Friday Night Lights and My Name Is Earl

Before the Peacock, Hirschfeld spent 12 years building up Liberman/Hirschfeld Casting with then-partner Meg Liberman. He snagged several Emmy nominations for casting Seinfeld, and in 1998, won the Emmy for casting From the Earth to the Moon. Additional casting coups at Liberman/Hirschfeld include the ensembles for The Larry Sanders Show, 3rd Rock From the Sun, NewsRadio, Married ... With Children and The Nanny.
